Thanks to the clear skies and good wind conditions, all three days of the KFC/PSC Penang Open Regatta 2014 gave some regatta participants from clubs and states all over the country the opportunity to do their best at their respective race categories.

Held from 7 to 9 March 2014 along the coastline of the Penang Swimming Club, Tanjung Bungah, some 148 participants competed the Optimist Class, Laser Class, International Class, Windsurfing Class and Radial Class.

State Youth and Sports, Women, Family and Community Development committee chairperson said that the regatta is the second ranking championship in the circuit.

“It gave these young participants to gauge their skills among their peers in the circuit, improve their overall ranking and at the same time, they will be able to prepare for the coming Malaysia Games at Perak,” she said during the closing ceremony.

The annual regatta was organised by the Penang Sailing Association, endorsed by the Penang State Government and sponsored by KFC and PSC.
