KNIGHTS of the Round Table (KOTRT) is back with the ‘Kayuh Lasak 2011: Kaw Ride’ on Dec 3 and 4 to test the endurance of cyclists.
Organising chairman Shamoon Shabudin said the theme had the word ‘kaw’ which means nine in Hokkien.
“We chose the word as this is the ninth edition of the annual sporting event,” he said.
The cycling event, which will see contestants taking part in mixing trails covering a total 55km, will be held at the Balik Pulau Sports Complex.
Shamoon said although the event emphasised on food, fun and fellowship, there were also attractive prizes and awards up for grabs such as the fastest rider award, the ‘King & Queen of the Hill’ and the ‘Semangat Kayuh Lasak’ awards.
State Youth, Sports, Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman Lydia Ong Kok Fooi lauded the event for promoting healthy living and sports tourism.
Registration, which starts today, will be based on first-come-first-served basis as only 1,500 places are available with a registration fee of RM50 each.
